New Zealand Venison

Venison meatballs

Serves: 5     Preparation: 30 mins     Time to cook: 10 mins    

Ingredients

Meatballs

500 gm venison mince
1 tbsp chopped herbs
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp paprika
3 tbsp chopped onion
½ cup instant mashed potato
10 bamboo skewers
10 cherry tomatoes
100 gm diced halloumi cheese

Mix the herbs, garlic, paprika, onion and instant mashed potato with the mince.

With wet hands, roll the mixture into bite sized balls.

Thread the meatballs on to the skewers with a cherry tomato and a square of halloumi.

Cook on a hot plate, turning regularly to ensure the cheese does not burn.  Make sure meatballs are cooked through.

Serve as a pass-around or with seasonal vegetables for dinner.
